Privacy, in plain words

Groshenko is a family finance app built by a family. This page says what actually happens with your data. Every claim here is implemented in the app's code, not just promised.

What we store

The financial records your family types in: accounts, transactions, budgets, categories, goals, and notes, plus any receipts or documents you choose to attach, and the wins, notes, and decisions your family writes when looking back on a month. From Google sign-in we keep your name, email address, and profile picture. That is the whole list.

Receipts and documents you attach are kept privately in your family space, behind the same boundaries as everything else, and are never sent to any outside service. When you scan a receipt to fill in a transaction, the reading happens entirely on your device — the image is never uploaded to an OCR or AI service.

Where it lives

In a Supabase database in the United States, served through Vercel. Email (invites, the weekly digest, and the monthly look-back) is delivered by Resend. Sign-in is handled by Google. These four named services are the only places your data travels, and each one is bound by its own security certifications.

What we never do

No ads. No trackers or analytics scripts. No selling, renting, or sharing of data with anyone. There is no business model here that involves your information.

Who can see what

Members of your family space see that space's shared records: that is the point of the app. Roles limit what each member can change, and a child role sees only what a child should. The database itself enforces these boundaries on every single request, so a bug in a page cannot leak another family's data.

Your rights, built in

Export everything anytime from Settings: transactions and budgets as CSV, or the whole space as JSON. Delete a space, or your entire account, yourself, immediately, with no email to anyone. Erasure is real deletion; backup copies age out within 30 days.
